Desmos

This blog entry is about a tool in Dr. Wang’s PPT about previous T3PP results. Specifically, Desmos in the software list. Desmos is a free online graphing calculator that helps students learn math in a fun and interactive way. You can use it to make graphs, plot points, and explore equations. It’s available at ๐Ÿ‘‰ Desmos Website

introduction to Demos- ๐Ÿ‘‰ YouTube Video

Desmos is great for both teachers and students. Teachers can use it to show how math equations work in real time, and students can play around with graphs to see how changing numbers affects the lines or shapes. It’s a great way to make math more visual and hands-on. Here’s what it looks like:

Ease of Use:

Desmos is easy to use. You just type in an equation and the graph appears right away. The buttons are simple, and you don’t need to download anything. It also works on computers, tablets, and phones, so students can use it anywhere.

Versatility:
Desmos can be used in lots of ways, by teachers during lessons or by students for practice. It works for many grade levels, from middle school to high school. It’s useful for graphing, exploring shapes, or checking homework.

Likelihood of Using It in My Classroom:
I would definitely use Desmos in my classroom because it helps students understand math better. It turns boring equations into something visual and fun. I also like that it helps students see patterns and connections in their work.

Connection to Course Concepts:
the SAMR model, which shows how technology can change learning. Desmos fits under Modification because it turns a normal graphing assignment into something interactive. Instead of drawing by hand, students can move sliders and instantly see how the graph changes. This makes learning math more exciting and engaging.

Overall, Desmos is an easy and fun tool that helps students understand math in a more creative way.
