Google calendar

Blog Entry: Google Calendar

This blog entry is about a tool in Dr. Wang’s PPT about previous T3PP results, specifically, Google Calendar from the productivity and organization tools list. I chose this technology because it has become an essential part of my daily life, helping me stay organized and manage my time efficiently.

Google Calendar is a free online scheduling and planning tool developed by Google. It allows users to create, share, and manage events, set reminders, and integrate with other Google applications such as Gmail, Google Meet, and Google Classroom. Teachers can access it from any device, making it convenient for both personal and professional use.

Ease of Use:
Google Calendar is very user-friendly. Its drag-and-drop interface and automatic synchronization across devices make it simple to schedule events and reminders. Even those who are new to digital tools can quickly learn how to use it effectively.

Versatility:
This tool can be used for far more than just personal reminders. Teachers can create separate calendars for different classes, share lesson schedules with students or parents, and set up notifications for important school events or deadlines. It also integrates seamlessly with other educational tools, such as Google Classroom and Zoom, making it a versatile option for time and classroom management.

Classroom Application:
As a teacher, I plan to use Google Calendar to organize lesson plans, track assignments, and manage meetings. I can post daily or weekly lesson plans and share them with students so everyone knows what to expect in class. This will help both me and my students stay organized and prepared.

Connection to Course Concepts:
This week we discussed the TPACK framework, which emphasizes the integration of Technological, Pedagogical, and Content Knowledge. Google Calendar fits within this model as it enhances the technological knowledge component by supporting classroom organization and communication. It helps teachers manage the pedagogical process more effectively by streamlining planning and time management, two key factors in successful instruction.

  2. This is such a relatable and thoughtful post! I like how you connected Google Calendar to both your personal life and your future teaching career—it really shows how this tool supports organization in every area. You did a great job explaining how it helps you remember important events and how you plan to use it to manage lesson plans and daily classroom activities. That kind of structure is essential for teachers! I also appreciate that you included a tutorial link and a picture example; that makes your post even more practical and helpful for classmates who might not be familiar with the tool. Great work!
